After drug or alcohol detox, addicts are often left with a wide range of emotions, previously dealt with by using. The way to ensure lasting change and avert relapse is to dive straight to the root of the addiction and face those feelings head on. One-on-one therapy at Summit Estate gives our clients individualized attention and the privacy needed to become more self-aware and to build confidence. This form of therapy enables our clients identify triggers and develop coping mechanisms. Our Counselors and Therapists treat each client’s unique and personal experiences to help them move forward with their lives and mend damaged relationships.
The vicious cycle of guilt, anger, resentment, bitterness, and regret due to addiction can be destructive to a relationship. As the user, you probably never anticipated that one hit “just for fun” or to “take the edge off”, would lead to addiction and dependency. As the partner, you never imagined being yoked with an addict making you feel helpless.
At Summit Estate, we understand addiction affects the entire family, most intimately, the partner. During recovery, there are residual feelings that need to be explored and treated. Our professional well-trained Counselors and Therapists provide a safe, open space for couples to be honest about their relationship and to provide the perspective, understanding, and validation needed to work through this difficult time together.
Addiction is a lonely disease. Feelings of isolation and shame, create the basis for negative thought and behavior. That’s why, here at Summit Estate, we encourage our clients to build a community of support and camaraderie throughout the recovery process.
Therapy or counseling, in a group setting, offers our clients the opportunity to share experiences, gain perspective, and have sober interactions with fellow addicts who relate to your struggle. Through insightful discussion and positive reinforcement, our clients benefit from an acceleration in the healing process.
Our Counselors and Therapists understand the disease of drug and alcohol addiction can strain or break family bonds. Often times, the relationships are shattered. Addiction is a multifaceted disease with many layers and phases. As a crucial component of successful recovery, we offer our clients the opportunity to take part in our Continuing Care program upon completion of their treatment plan. Sessions may include topics touching on how to rebuild a broken relationship, how to have sober interactions in a social environment, and how to prevent substance abuse relapse.
Summit Estate is committed to maintaining an ongoing relationship with our addiction and dual diagnosis clients. While each client may go home to a different set of circumstances, everyone can benefit from the additional support of our aftercare sessions.
Our passion, at Summit Estate, is to help addicts conquer dependence on drug and alcohol. Although our approach to treatment is primarily non 12-step, we acknowledge the benefits of the Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous 12-step programs. We are committed to offering our clients every opportunity for success.
Since our therapy programs are exclusively tailored to fit the needs of every individual, we offer transportation to and from 12-step meeting for clients who chose to incorporate it into their rehabilitation. For some, complementing one of our long term therapy programs with a 12-step program may prove to be the greatest chance at a complete recovery.
