It is, however, only one option among many approaches, which have proven to successfully treat drug and alcohol abuse. The two main concepts behind mindfulness are acceptance and being present in each moment. Self-acceptance and acceptance of the world around us (people, places, and situations) are some of the key factors in achieving and maintaining solid recovery.
